No lie, in my early blogging days when I was living in NYC and had no friends, I had a homeless guy take my photo in exchange for McDonalds lol – but thats a story for another day!

On rare occasions when Paris isn’t with me, my mom, brother, friends or even my Uber driver will take my photo.

Sometimes, I’ll do a professional photo or video shoot with a camera or crew for a specific product, for example I just did one with maybe line and seventeen magazine thats been running on social all this week (# colormeseventeen) and over the holidays we shot a really fun video with Nordrstom Rack. Between me and my boyfriend Paris parisims) we create about 95% percent of the content you see. Okay so for photos, we shoot almost every day at all times of the day here in New York and beyond – we do everything from iPhone photography and simple snap/insta story uploads, to high quality videos, digital DSLR photos, stop motion vides made from a serious of raw photos, and everything else in-between. Color to me isn’t just in the pantone and primary sense, it also a way of life, an energy and an element of fun that I infuse into everything I do – hopefully today you’ll be able to take a little of that away along with some fun tips and tricks. Additionally I’m going to take you through the BTS of my photoshoots and what goes into every photo we create and share on instagram (not blog posts, we’ll chat about that later in another post).įor your reference, these photos are unedited (I usually boost the color for my feed & blog) and some are even zoomed out so you can really see what we were working with on this shoot.Īs you guys know, my job is to create original content that centers around color, vibrance and positivity. So today’s post is a little bit different, instead of fashion, I’m super excited to today to talk to you about photography, styling, and branding. This was a great way to get the brand what they wanted without compromising my aestheticI also tossed then some extra story promotion as a gesture of good faith… which I always end up doing when I love how the content turned out // See top of the post for my initial content and see above for the carousel post feature.BBTS – Blogging Behind the Scenes Instagram EditionĮvery since I shared how I grew on instagram in this post: Blogging Outside The Lines, you guys have been asking for more behind the scenes blogging posts about tips, tricks and my process! Luckily I had taken some close up product shots to clearly show the mascara (it’s a very holographic bottle making it super hard to photograph from afar) that the brand loved! As a compromise I agreed to post it as a carousel/swipe through post and they we’re on board. Well being a beauty brand, they didn’t love that I took fashion twist and did not approve my content.

For my peacock mascara ad I turned myself into an actual peacock through color & texture to make the product come to life. Being a Cover Girl has always been a dream of mine (lol do I sound dumb? WHATEVER LET A GIRL DREAM GUYS) so I was super pumped. BEHIND THE PHOTO – COVERGIRL: I was really excited this year to get my FIRST cover girl campaign.
